Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, of which Virgin Hotels is a subsidiary, has opened a brand-new hotel in the heart of New York City. This hotel marks the company’s entry into the New York market, its sixth in the USA, and its seventh in the world.

Ahead of schedule, the doors to the New York City location of Virgin Hotels opened. A press release reveals that the hotel will officially open in the spring of 2023, but guests can already take advantage of the convenient location and modern amenities.

The hotel, which can be found at 1227 Broadway in the middle of the NoMad district, takes up an entire city block, noted Travel Off Path. A dynamic and modern aesthetic permeates its 460 guestrooms, suites, and penthouses throughout 39 floors, which also house a variety of entertainment venues, an outdoor pool club, several dining options, and a co-working area.

The Virgin Group’s cruise ships, airlines, and hotels all provide upscale amenities and personalized service. The new hotel boasts a variety of distinctive services and facilities that will also impress their clientele and echoes some good memories for those who spent their childhoods frequenting the Virgin Megastore, a former city landmark.

“We’ve wanted to open a hotel in New York City since Virgin Atlantic first flew here in 1984. We have had so many milestones in this city, from opening America’s biggest record store to driving a tank through Times Square to lighting up the Empire State Building,” Sir Richard Branson, Founder of the Virgin Group said.I’m looking forward to even more adventures in the city and having a place to call home at the end of the day. Virgin Hotels CEO James Bermingham affirmed that the city was ideal for the hotel because the Virgin Hotels brand complements New York in every way.

“New York City is the perfect home for Virgin Hotels. Our brand is bold, proud, and playful, and so are New Yorkers,” he said. “As our first hotel in New York City, we wanted to create a concept that was unique yet thoughtful, fusing together the local landscape with the spirit of Virgin.”

Accommodations

Each Chamber features a wall of windows stretching from floor to ceiling, allowing guests to take in the sights of the city below them. It also has the two distinct spaces that are a trademark of Virgin Hotels. The Dressing Room enables visitors to get ready or unwind in comfort and features a full vanity desk with a mirror, a closet for two, and an extra-large shower with a bench.

A smart TV, a yoga mat, a cafe worktable, a red SMEG® mini-fridge filled with reasonably priced comforts, and the brand’s patented ergonomic lounge bed are among the practical amenities available in The Lounge. Aside from pet-friendly amenities for their beloved pets, guests will also find sensor-activated lighting that turns on when they walk by.

Visitors looking for the ultimate in luxury can reserve a room in Sir Richard’s Flat, a beautiful 2,800 square foot suite found on the hotel’s 35th and 36th floors. Two bedrooms, including a large master bedroom, a striking walk-in bathroom with opulent fixtures like a rain-head shower and bench, a soaking tub, and a vanity, a kitchenette, 24-foot windows with city views, and a carefully chosen art collection are all included in the spacious duplex.

Food & Beverage Options

On the third and fourth floors of the hotel, several dining options are available. The stylish 4,000-square-foot dining and drinking establishment ,Everdene, located on the third floor, offers a casual and playful atmosphere, expansive city views, and menus that feature seasonally inspired dishes, shareable plates, and specialty cocktails.

Also opening in the coming months is the hotel’s signature, fine dining restaurant found on the fourth floor featuring Italian and Latin-inspired immersive culinary delights.

Amenities

On the fourth floor, guests of the hotel have access to the Pool Club, which features a heated pool, seasonal deck, and indoor lounge. The hotel also features a business center, free Wi-Fi, and an ultramodern fitness center, among many other conveniences.

Loyalty Program

The hotel’s brand-wide guest preferences and loyalty program, The Know, offers members-only rates, room upgrades, and special dining and event offers. The Know can join Virgin Red, Virgin’s loyalty program, for more benefits.
